Ever have one of those days from the time you open your eyes, that you don't want to get out of bed? I woke up today, and immediately didn't feel like doing anything. I felt sluggish. These days are that it's important to move. It may have been the dreariness that was outside, it could be the fact that it was Monday morning, or maybe just how I felt. Days like this are hard to find the motivation. It's easy to stay in bed, to sit down and turn on the tv., and do nothing. It is important to honor how you feel, but at the same time knowing the walk, the yoga, the exercise, the movement may be just what you need to feel better. Days like these are days you start a little slower. And maybe the day stays slow, or possibly the extra space you gave yourself will kickstart your day. Give yourself time to ease into your day, with a little extra patience. Know it is ok to pause, to be still, to rest. But maybe your rest is a leisurely walk instead of a brisk power walk. Maybe the stillness is an opportunity to meditate, focus on your breathing and being present. Maybe rest is some gentle seated or restorative yoga instead of the power vinyasa. It is possible to still find movement even on the days you don't feel like it. Sometimes the movement is just what you need to restart your day, and find the sunshine that is hiding behind the clouds.
